Executive Consulting for Psychiatry and Primary Care Providers
The majority of healthcare professionals finish their residency programs without feeling confident in their ability to connect with transgender patients or manage hormone therapy for gender health care. Dr. Colt is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of pediatric and adult gender health care who provides executive consulting and mentoring services to prepare psychiatry and primary care providers to meet the needs of transgender patients. He is a certified mentor by the World Professional Association of Transgender Health Standards of Care 8th Version, and routinely provides mentoring to professionals around the globe.
As both a licensed psychologist and a board-certified Family Medicine physician. Dr. Colt completed his PhD in child-family clinical psychology in 2013, his MD in 2020, and Mayo Clinic Family Medicine residency in 2023. He is double fellowship trained in LGBT Healthcare through the Michael E DeBakey Veterans Affairs Hospital (2013-2014) and the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute (2023-2024).
Dr. Colt has combined his professional expertise with his lived experience expertise as a transgender person to develop an executive consulting and mentoring program for healthcare professionals who want to feel confident in managing medication as well as understanding the unique identities and experiences of transgender people. This program consists of one on one and group sessions.
